Local Support Groups
We know that cancer can be more than a physical disease as often perceived. The diagnosis alone provokes the deepest fears of patients and their families. For this reason, we want to provide you with resources to help lessen the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis. Each individual will have different needs. What is meaningful to one person may be meaningless to another. Support groups are a great avenue to find your niche.
Kingsport is rich in the tradition of neighbor helping neighbor mentality. Cancer support is no immune to this. Our region has a wealth of support groups that we encourage.
Survive & Thrive: where Hope grows
Survive & Thrive is a support and resource group for patients, families and friends who are navigating the path throughout the cancer experience.
The group meets each Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Oncology Library on the third floor of Wilcox Hall at Holston Valley Medical Center. Convenient parking is available in the gated lot next to Wilcox Hall (red & white striped gate marked Radiation Oncology Parking…enter building at the top of the parking lot…turn left…elevator to third floor…we meet in the library behind the nurses’ station).

- October 11 Living Smart…advice from the American Cancer Society.

SISTERS … Breast Cancer Support Group
SISTERS is a support group specifically for women who have been touched by breast cancer.
The group meets the first Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on 2nd floor of the outpatient center on Stone Drive.
We will not be meeting in October
